Coach Art
CoachArt creates a transformative arts and athletics community for families impacted by childhood chronic illness.
OBJECTIVE
To create a nonprofit that would transform the lives of chronically ill children through arts and athletics.
IMAGERY
STRATEGY
CoachArt started from scratch. We began with this idea of wanting to change children’s lives through art and athletics but we needed a whole strategy to be able to create this organization and drive impact.
The Starting Point
From day one, we knew we wanted CoachArt to be ran like a mission driven brand, a different approach to the standard nonprofits we see today. Our first step in doing so was thorough thought and effort into understanding the population we were serving. With that audience in mind, we sought out aligned partnerships from healthcare organizations, families in need, and volunteers that would put the plan in motion.
Running the System
We knew it was critical to establish a Board of Directors that was innovative, flexible, and responsive in order to support our mission fully. To operate effectively and efficiently, we were careful and intentional in creating balance between our programs, operations, and development. We dedicated an enormous amount of time to engaging, mobilizing and connecting with our volunteers. The use of technology became a huge component to our growth in a responsible and sustainable way.

OUTCOME
CoachArt is accelerating and adapting to serve it’s population now more than ever. They have begun virtual events in response to the coronavirus pandemic, developed CoachArt Connect for online coaching sessions, and expanded into 5 new cities.

“Leah's greatest strength is applying an impact-oriented perspective to creating a social impact vision. Traditional business comes with an automatic metric and yardstick of success -- profit. In social impact, choosing the right metric/yardstick to measure ROI is the foundation of an effective social impact vision and carefully defining those KPI's requires an expert like Leah.”
